Review guidelines
Unvarnished reviews are candid assessments of professional performance. To ensure honesty, reviewer identities are never outwardly tied to a review.
Reviewers earn an authority rating over time, based on how others rate their reviews, so it is in the best interest of reviewers and the community to leave helpful reviews.
What makes a good Unvarnished review?
- Business-focused: Reviews should focus on a person's professional performance.
- Well-written: Well-written and concise reviews do a better job of getting your point across, and sharing your professional knowledge.
- Honest: Reviews should be candid assessments based on your professional opinion and experience.
What to avoid?
- Non-business topics: Reviews should avoid topics that do not impact a person's professional capacity.
- Unprofessional behavior: Obscenities, personal attacks, and aggressive or discriminatory language are prohibited.
- Private information: Any information that is private or privileged should be avoided.
- False statements of fact: Unvarnished reviews should be rooted firmly in personal opinion and facts. Passing off false statements as fact is prohibited, and may open the reviewer to potential legal claims.
Reviewer behavior that violates Unvarnished's Terms of Use and Community Guidelines is grounds for account suspension.
